Job Title – Sports Coach/Youth Engagement Worker (Sandown/Lake and possibly East Cowes)
Community Action IW are looking for highly motivated sports coaches/youth workers to join our team and have opportunities, including part time roles (mutually agreed hours up to 16 hours per week) available and would be interested in hearing from individuals with experience in community sports/ multi sports as well as those individuals who have experience or interest in youthwork.
As a Youth Worker/Community Sports Worker, your role will be to support and engage children and young people aged primarily 10-18 years to develop their social and emotional capabilities and emotional/physical wellbeing, improve their engagement with learning and to stay safe.
You will be working across projects which support young people in a variety of settings including, detached youth work and through an increasing offer of community sports and cultural activity. There will also be possible opportunities to work at fixed site youth club delivery and targeted youth interventions.
This position requires a dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible person who is capable of working with young people and within a progressive team.
You must have the ability to provide ongoing support for young people and lead and support sporting activities and support targeted provision.
Twilight, evening and very occasional weekend working will be required.
