Volunteer opportunities on the Isle of Wight.

We want to ensure that anyone thinking about giving their time can find a volunteering opportunity which is right for them, whether it’s supporting people with additional needs or helping out at a local sports club.

If you are non-judgemental, open minded and able to deal with challenging behaviour then you maybe interested in joining the Independent Monitoring Board. We are a group of people from the local community appointed to HMP Isle of Wight to monitor that people in custody are treated fairly and with respect. This is extremely interesting and important voluntary work and no special qualifications are required but you must be able to commit to about 8 half days a month during which you will deal with complaints and requests from prisoners and have access to all parts of the prison day and night.
