Waving The Flag For Volunteers – A new way to get noticed
This year the IW Volunteer Centre are pleased to announce a new project to celebrate and promote volunteering on the Isle of Wight.
Thanks to funding from Community Action IW and the Heritage Action Zones, we are able to offer free participation for community groups who have volunteers at the heart of their work. Shademakers UK, one of the leading Carnival Arts companies in Europe (who are based in Ryde), will be designing the overall entry, running workshops, providing materials and expertise and helping to bring it all together.
The IW Volunteer Centre would like to invite you to take part in this exciting new project. We want to make this as easy as possible for you to take part. Whether there are just two of you or 200 from your organisation who want to take part, we want you to sign up and wave a flag for your organisation and your volunteers.
We ask you to send between one and four people to at least two workshops and to sign up to at least two carnivals, if possible.
We really want to show what a diversity of organisations there are who have volunteer opportunities and celebrate the hard work of those involved.
Don’t be left out, Make sure you sign up soon!
