My Life a Full Life
The Community Action IW team has a range of health related skills and experience that enable us to provide consultancy, research, project management and service delivery.
Community Action IW is the voluntary sector lead for the My life a Full Life programme working with charities, organisations and other groups who support Island residents achieve health and wellbeing. We visit Town and Parish Councils and local groups, and organise events, to explain the programme in more detail and see how the good work happening across our Island can be coordinated to enhance the MLAFL programme.
The My Life a Full Life (MLAFL) programme, aims to fundamentally change and improve the lives of people on the Island.
MLAFL is about organisations working together in partnership with the voluntary sector, the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the Isle of Wight Council (IWC), the Isle of Wight NHS Trust (IWNHS Trust) and One Wight Health (a GP membership organisation) providing for peoples individual needs to enable them to take control of their lives and plan for their future health and social care needs.
Community Action IW plays a key role in ensuring the Voluntary and Community sector helps to design and remain a key part of the programme. The Voluntary Sector Locality Link Officer for MLAFL works from the Riverside and his role is to link all the good work carried out by volunteers and not-for-profit organisations into the MLAFL model helping Islanders control their health and wellbeing. In 2016, there will be a public consultation on the Whole Integrated System Redesign (WISR), in which the NHS and social care services on the Island will be re-designed. The Communication and Engagement Officer for the WISR project is employed by Community Action IW and her role is to enable local community and voluntary organisations to participate in a meaningful way in the discussions around this, and to co-produce the new structures and processes.
Team members have worked on local, regional and national health and wellbeing initiatives. We currently work in partnership with the Isle of Wight Public Health Department and the IW Clinical Commissioning Group delivering a wide ranging programme of health and wellbeing projects and services. Community Action IW is always keen to explore potential for future partnership projects relating to health and wellbeing and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
