Housing Legal Aid

The Community Law Service team are now able to provide Legal Aid funded assistance to residents on the Isle of Wight who have housing cases.

We can assist and advise on a wide range of cases including:

• Homelessness applications

• Homelessness appeals

• Notices issued by your Landlord

• Court proceedings for possession and eviction

• Anti-social behaviour injunctions

• Disrepair issues and claims

• Mortgage possession and eviction cases

The Legal Aid Agency requires us to carry out two tests to make sure people are eligible.

• Means test – about your financial circumstances

• Merits test – about whether your case meets the criteria which the Legal Aid Agency funds.
