Community Action Awards 2015
The annual celebration of the efforts and impact of voluntary and community activity on the Island, the Isle of Wight Community Action Awards, is here again.
Supported by the Isle of Wight County Press and a range of category sponsors, the awards provides an opportunity for any voluntary and community group to receive recognition and potentially some cash prizes for their good work in the past 12 months.
The Isle of Wight Council Countryside Estate An invitation for Expressions of Interest from not for profit organisations
Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified organisations to take over the Isle of Wight Council’s Countryside Estate (the sites).
The sites include approximately 170 hectares of land spread over about twenty locations throughout the Island.
A new grant funding opportunity dedicated to supporting sustainable transport projects on the Island has been announced.
Island businesses, organisations and community groups can apply to the “Drive Less, See More Grant Scheme”. They can seek financial support of £10,000 for projects which help visitors to travel around the Island by bus, train, bike, on foot or electric vehicle and help to grow the value of the visitor economy.

The Volunteer Centre will be working with the team at Ventnor Botanic Gardens to promote volunteering opportunities on the Island and to offer support to organisations who use volunteers. Free entry and free parking.
